Gold Price FAQs
We weigh your item on calibrated scales and test its purity (carat) using non-destructive methods. That purity is applied to the live gold spot price for the day to give a price per gram, which is then multiplied by the weight of pure gold in your item. Any gemstones or non-precious-metal parts are excluded from the weight used for pricing.
No - walk-ins are always welcome during our opening hours. If you'd prefer a specific time, especially for larger items or bullion, you can book an appointment using our contact form and we'll confirm a slot that suits you.
Once you accept our offer, payment is made on the spot by bank transfer or cash, depending on the amount and your preference. There's no waiting around - most customers are paid within minutes of agreeing a price.
There is absolutely no obligation to sell. Our valuations are free and you're welcome to get a second opinion elsewhere before deciding. We'd rather you feel confident in your decision than rush into a sale.
No - the calculator on our site gives an indicative estimate based on the current market rate and the details you enter. Your final price is always confirmed in person, after we've physically weighed and tested your item, since online estimates can't account for exact purity or condition.
We're based at 33 Hatton Garden, 3rd Floor Unit 32, London EC1N 8DL, in the heart of London's historic jewellery quarter. We're open Monday to Saturday, 10:00-17:30, and closed on Sundays.
