Gemstones and mixed materials
If a piece includes diamonds or other gemstones, our valuation is based on the gold content only, with the stones excluded from the weight used for pricing (a rough allowance is made for their weight where they can't be easily removed). We'll always talk you through exactly how we've arrived at a figure.

That purity is applied to the live gold spot price for the day to give a price per gram, which is then multiplied by the weight of pure gold in your item. Any gemstones or non-precious-metal parts are excluded from the weight used for pricing.
No - walk-ins are always welcome during our opening hours. If you'd prefer a specific time, especially for larger items or bullion, you can book an appointment using our contact form and we'll confirm a slot that suits you.
Once you accept our offer, payment is made on the spot by bank transfer or cash, depending on the amount and your preference. There's no waiting around - most customers are paid within minutes of agreeing a price.
UK law requires us to verify the identity of anyone selling precious metals. Please bring a valid photo ID (passport or driving licence) and, if available, proof of address such as a recent utility bill or bank statement.
Yes. Broken chains, single earrings and damaged pieces are all accepted - we price scrap and broken jewellery on its pure metal content, so there's no need to repair anything before bringing it in.
