Sterling silver vs silver-plated
The most important distinction with silver is whether an item is solid sterling silver (typically hallmarked 925 or 800) or merely silver-plated over a base metal. We check hallmarks and confirm purity with proper testing on the spot, so you'll know definitively which you have and be priced fairly on genuine silver content.

That purity is applied to the live gold spot price for the day to give a price per gram, which is then multiplied by the weight of pure gold in your item.
